BRIT FLOYD is a Pink Floyd tribute band formed in 2010.
“The British Pink Floyd Show” later shortened to “Brit Floyd”
Brit Floyd’s first performance was on 22 January 2011 at the Echo Arena, Liverpool, UK to an audience of 6,000 people.
Several of the members of Brit Floyd, together with other musicians, also tour from time to time as “The Classic Rock Show”, a concert covering tracks from the top selling albums of the 1970s and 1980s, by artists such as Dire Straits and The Who.
The Inflatable Pig
Although I was only 3 when PINK FLOYD hit America. I am a HippiCat at heart. My favorite PINK FLOYD moment……Home Brewing with a bunch of friends and then sitting down to a brew, PINK FLOYD, and the psychedelic embers of an outdoor fire.
I LOVED every moment of the show….you must catch one of their shows….YOU WILL BE SEEING RAINBOWS!!!!!
I just got back from a visit to Pittsburgh to see my son. He was scheduled last Friday for Heart Ablation Surgery.
If you have children, and if they have ever had any type of surgery…you know the stress that a parent goes through.
He was in the operating room for the maximum time that the hospital told us….and we started worrying. It turns out that they could not get his heart to show any abnormalities…even though he was just in the emergency room a week before with some major irregular heart beats. Just like when he was little…he would be sick as a dog (not a Cat…lol) and I would get him to the doctor and his fever would be ALL gone and he was just fine….UUUUgggggh!!!!!!!!!!!
Well…they didn’t do the surgery because since the they couldn’t get the heart to beat irregularly….they didn’t know where to ablate.
The Good News…they ruled out any major heart diseases and hopefully he will continue to grow out of this.
On this Valentines Day….I can’t help but think how times in my life when my heart was hurting….How cool it would have been if someone could have just ablated that section of my heart out.
When your heart is hurt…does it ever really recover?
I know that my heart is….shall we say weaker….easier to break…once broken.
Sometimes I think we believe that the people in our lives know that we love them….I am a “I LOVE YOU” type of person.
I say “I LOVE YOU” to my boys all the time….Losing a sister to car accident…I understand how someone can be in your life one minute and not the next.
but..this morning….I gave my 21 year old a Valentine SNOW GLOBE.with his favorite….Scooby Doo in it…he thanked me…I said…”I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW YOU ARE LOVED”
I tell him everyday…but sometimes we need to hear it in a different way.
We all show our love in a different way….TRY SHOWING SOMEONE HOW MUCH YOU LOVE THEM IN THE WAY YOU KNOW THEY WOULD LOVE TO RECEIVE IT….THAT’S HOW TO SHOW SOMEONE LOVE.
My favorite part of coming to the Valentine Theatre is just pushing back and experiencing the awe of it’s lush beauty while waiting for the show I am attending to begin…..
ANOTHER WHITE DASH by Butterfly Boucher (yep..that’s her name…Butterfly) was playing in the background as the crowd waited for Richard Marx
to be the song I posted to FACEBOOK and was humming all day….lol
and then he played “SATISFIED”
LYRICS for “SATISFIED”
There must be more to livin’ than nine to five
Why should we wait for some better time There may not even be a tomorrow (LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Ain’t no sense in losing your mind I’m gonna make it worth the ride
[Chorus:] Don’t you know, I won’t give up until I’m satisfied
Richard said, “It has been 2 years since I was in your HOOD”
The last time was with the Toledo Symphony….A little different than going on stage all by yourself.
Playing Acoustic is kinda like being out there without a net.…
He told the audience to just RELAX and pretend they were at his house and “Grab a BEER”
Richard promised us that he would play us some tunes that would take us through his career and a only a few new songs
(he goes to concerts too and knows that you like to hear hits)
He told us how he had recorded with a lot of people … Luther Vandross was one of those people….Richard and Luther soon became good friends.
Dance with My Father” is the title track to singer-songwriter Luther Vandross‘ thirteenth studio album. With Richard Marx, Vandross wrote the song based on his personal experience. Its poignant lyrics recall childhood memories with Vandross’ father, who used to dance with his mother.
Despite the lack of promotion due in part to Vandross’ hospitalization, “Dance with My Father” became one of the requested songs at the time. During the 2004 Grammy Awards, “Dance with My Father” earned Vandross the Song of the Year and Best Male R&B Vocal Performance accolades.
Richard Marx really was quite comical…he heard someone burp in the audience..and he said..”Did you just burp?” “Well, I did tell you
to pretend you were at my home….I guess you’d to that at my house.”
When the crowd would applaud…he would give a silly look like…who me?
and then he says……..”I guess we should get one of these PUSSY BALLADS out of the way” and then played “ONE THING LEFT TO DO”
Richard gave us some insight on how he writes a song…..
He said the music usually comes first….he lives with it…humming it out in his everyday life and then tries to figure out what it is telling him.
Sometimes ,on rare occasions, it all comes at the same time (the lyrics and the music).
Back in 1991 when he wrote “Hazard” …a song about a missing girl named Mary…he used his archaic Panasonic Cassette Player.
His wife Cindy (who he said he knew was HAWT) thought Hazzard would be a hit and he only recorded it to prove that she was W_R_O_N_G…….He did it for all men who deal with the fact that MEN CAN NEVER BE RIGHT!!!!
Cindy WAS RIGHT…it became one of Richard’s most popular songs…peaking at the top of the charts.
Richard kept saying..”OK, I’m going to drop another name.”
and talked about working with the following artists………Keith Urban…..Life House……InSync….Chris Daughtry …Josh Groben….Barbara Streisand …..Ringo Star……and Shelia E (who gave him the recipe for the Brew he was drinking on stage for his voice)
The Brew…..Lemon Juice, Honey, Crushed Ginger, & tons of cayenne (to be sipped to avoid trips to the restroom…lol)
Richard talked of how he missed his father Dick Marx who passed away in August of 1997.
Dick Marx was an American jazz pianist and arranger. He also composed for film, television, and commercials.
He said “JINGLES” are sort of nonexsistant these day…..but his dad wrote the best of them
He played the song “THROUGH MY VEINS” in tribuite to his late father……He played so intensly…I could see his veins pop out from his neck.
Then he played the song “SAVE ME”….with a video of his 3 sons, Brandon on guitar (born 1990), Lucas on Piano (born 1992), and Jesse
on Drum(born 1994)……..I got that (IT’S AWESOME) shiver when I heard the inherited similarities in their voices.
There were 2 women who showed up at the concert that were recognized before the show by 101.5 The River as ticket winners..
Richard called out to the two women who got together after several years just to come to this concert…..they had brought albums with them of Richard Marx….
Richard said ” Everyone has made a FASHION HAIR ERROR at some point in their lives…but…..“Your Shit’s not on YouTube.”
Then he unplugged his guitar and sat down at the edge of the stage and performed “ALWAYS ON YOUR MIND”
He left the stage and then came back with
“RED RAIN” & “WHEREVER YOU GO”
If you plan on catching a Richard Marx concert…..be ready to SING……he was constantly bringing the audience in on his songs.
and if you can’t sing….well…..JUST MEOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!
There is something just SO COOL about driving into Downtown Detroit (OK, stinky too..lol)
The Piston Basketball on the refinery…the bulletin boards keeping you up to date with the hip happenings…and the BEAUTIFUL CHURCH tops that catch your eye….and then the lit up streets decorated with snow flakes for the season.
The line was loooooong….but it went quick once they opened the doors.
I’m standing on stage before it became crowded and the comedians came out…Look at the faces on the crowd…I guess I better not purrrrrsue the career of a comedian….LOL
Hosted by Chili Challis, who has headlined clubs, casinos, colleges and corporate shows for 20+ years…..
a former staff writer for the ‘Tonight Show with Jay Leno’
19 yr. old NathanKime…Said…Pointing to the big screen behind him, “Look Mom…My Name is on the Maumee Indoor Theatre!”
Steve Cathcart…from Cleveland
Asked…What if I introduced myself…??….Hi I’m Steve Cathcart…One time I tried to make out with my cousin
Meghan O Koesters wanted to be introduced as
“THE GIRL IN RED HAIR AND BOOTS”
Went to BGSU…Preforming Arts
Meghan let us all know that it’s tough to be a woman comedian
and that her college major doesn’t get the credit it deserves.
Kool Keith
Well…He’s just KOOOOL.
He came out wearing a white brother’s ( lighter complextion) mask…and made the joke that he wore it because ..you know….He thought it was a good idea since he was driving to Maumee.
Catch Keith at OUR BROTHERS PLACE on Thursdays.
Mark Frederick…told us some personal things…with his Mother- in- law
in the audience.
He bought a motorcycle and went to do the low biker wave…and just ended up raising his hand and waving like crazy..High up in the air.
Jake Dickey….you may know from WISE ASS WEDNESDAYS at
Comedy Connxtions.
He thinks it might be kinda AWESOME if Jesus was Black…then we’d have
chocolate wafers at communion.
……and he just kept waiting for Chaz Bono to dance to “Dude Looks Like a Lady”
on Dancing with the Stars!!
Brandon Doriot said….he like to get EWWWW’s from the crowd…
just as much as applause and laughs.
And you know those dog rescue commercials that break everyone’s hearts?
They say that 3 out of 5 dogs are homeless…..well…he’s pretty sure that dogs
can live in the wild….
and I will purrrrsonally forgive him for the cat jokes.
Cheryl Henke…Introduces herself as the only
Premenopausal Comedian
She tells us all how tough it is to date in 2012 in your 40′s
and how everyone is expected to be stick figures…
Why don’t they call the line for Big Girls…
VICTORIA’S BIG SECRET?
Try laying on Vertical Striped Sheets…you’ll appear thinner.
Corey King…
With all of these New Years Resolutions and Fitness Training bullshit…
all he really hopes for is that his…NIPPLES STOP MOVING…when
he brushes his teeth.
Donny P.
Just became a father…
It’s funny how after you have a baby…you start judging other babies..
You know…when someone shows you their baby….they think it is the most
beautiful creature…and you may just be thinking CREATURE.
Donny thinks ThunderCats are the gayist cartoon of the 80′s behind He-man.
All Cat’s are KOOOOL….lol
And then there were the biggest laughs from and crowd pleaser..
Joey Barone..grandson of Mama Rosie from Rosie’s Italian and son of Dr. Barone, plastic surgeon…NO…he says he
can’t get you a discount.
Introduced by Chili as leaving for L.A. soon.
Oh the humor between a Guy… his X-Box… and his woman.
The Final Applause and Last Laugh!!!
Jason Kelley, along with Laura Spiess (J.L. Entertainment Services, Inc ) wrapping up the evening and thanking everyone for supporting Toledo Comedians.
Handel’s Messiah is one of the Christian world’s most popular musical works ever. It’s a sort of 18th Century musical which can be appreciated on many levels, since it contains hummable tunes, rousing choruses, virtuoso arias, many memorable moments, and deeply spiritual texts.

I was proud to hear my husband sing in this purrrr…formance. I love to support his love for music….but I must confess..that my tongue is a little sore from biting it (to avoid laughing)…I just couldn’t help but think of bugs bunny when the first solo began.
About 2000 people witnessed the successful collaboration of the Toledo Symphony, The Toledo Choral Society and BGSU University Choral Society for Handel’s Messiah on December 3 and 4th.
DIDN’T KNOW I WAS GOING TO PLAY “MUSICAL CHAIRS” AT THE PERISTYLE.……..My family was told they were in the wrong seat. We then moved to one row over…only to find out we were in the correct seat ALL ALONG….and yes the older lady next to me loved it when I kept knocking her husbands walker with the back of my coat…then the lady who said I was in the wrong seat….grabs my broken arm to tell me that she is sorry for the mishap. UUUGHEYMEOW!!!!!!!!!!!
